Chairman, Vodacom Group (Pty) Ltd
Wendy Luhabe was appointed Non-Executive Chairman of Vodacom Group (Pty) Ltd in January 2000. She is currently also chairman of the Industrial Development Corporation. Ms Luhabe holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Lesotho, and spent 8 years with BMW prior to starting Bridging the Gap, a human resource practice, in 1991.
In 1997, the World Economic Forum named her one of the "Global Leaders for Tomorrow" and she was honoured in 1999 as one of the 45 "Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World". The "Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World" represent industries as diverse as agriculture, banking, bottling, communications, construction, cosmetics, education, engineering, fashion, mining, publishing, real estate and transportation.
